Hi I was diagnosed with lung cancer approximately 6years ago , I had right middle lobe removed and recovered from this but sadly on my year five scan the cancer returned ,as a result I had my right lung removed in April 2026 , medically I’m recovering well but have been suffering with anxiety and panic attacks especially during the heat wave as I felt I couldn’t breathe then the anxiety kicked in which made it all worse, I’m so glad the weather is cooling down.
I have been doing my exercises almost everyday which helps with my breathing, it’s all been such a lot to cope with but glad I didn’t need any further treatment, just scans every 3months for the first year then yearly scans . I do get breathless but it’s improving slowly. Can you share your experience with your experience.
Hi Tiger204
The heat wave that we had definitely affected my breathing. I think when we feel like we are struggling with breath, we do get anxious, which only makes the breathing harder. It’s a bit of a vicious circle. I do find that having a fan blow on my face does help when I am struggling with my breathing, I don’t know if you have tried that.
Do speak to your medical team about this, they may also be able able to help with the anxiety.
Hi thanks for your reply, yes a fan does help but when it was above 30c the fan was blowing out warm air so I really struggled xxx
