I have just had 4 rounds of chemo/immunotherapy and a scan after my third treatment which has shown the tumour hadn’t shrunk but had turned cystic(tumour is 5cm)I am due for operation on the 20th but would love to hear from anyone who is going through or been through the same treatment as myself. I’m worried sick about the operation and would love to hear from anyone in a similar situation and hear how you coped. Did you have keyhole or open surgery and was it successful. Thanks in advance…
hi Tooty
i had 3 rounds of chemo/immunotherapy back in june 2023 had all the relivant scans and they had found the tumour had died but put me forward for a keyhole surgery, having that done up in London they could not get to it, so opened me up they had found that the tumour had died but wrapped itself around my palmonary arteraryit was too dangerous to remove now im not saying this was a bad thing the tumour was dead lymph nodes were removed and tested. Surgeon was happy they were free of cancer still ongoing scans and full bloods done every 3 monoths, now every 4 months still ok someone up there is looking after me......fingers crossed
Oh wow you have been through it bless you, and to hear your tumour had died must have been something great to hear! Yes someone is looking after you Ella and be thankful for everyday, so happy to hear your scans are showing no signs of cancer, I just pray I will be as lucky as you and get through this operation I will keep you upto date…thank you for replying
I had 3 rounds of Chemo/immunotherapy I'm March 2024, Stage 3 Tumor shrunk by 10% but I went on to have surgery in June, Incision was behind shoulder. About 10 inches, I was in icu gor 5 days only because I couldn't manage my pain, total days in hospital 10, just don't expect too much of yourself afterwards, most important is to keep your pain under control when your home and eat little but often even if your not really up to it, I Dont try to push yourself to.quickly, Im nearly 1 year and still cancer free, Still working on my energy levels and have no feeling under right arm.duen to erve pain/damage .
Message me any time, Even if it's just a chat ,
Let us know how you get on , Fingers crossed and Good luck for the 20th
Thanks for replying, gosh it sounds like you had a really bad time too but thankfully you came through it all just like Ella, it gives me great hope although I wish I could be as positive as you both. Thank you for being here to share your story with me and yes I will let you know how I get on and hopefully I too will be able to share my success story too
