I was diagnosed in May last year, and had 6 rounds of chemotherapy. I never had any symptoms, it was found after an x ray for something else. I have felt very well for the last 9 months, but about 3 weeks ago, felt something wasn't quite right. Had a CT scan last week, and it turns out the cancer is on the move again. It is in my lymph nodes of my neck on the same side, and I have very severe pain in my neck and back, which I thought was maybe due to sleeping in a bad position, It's ok in the day, but as soon as I lie down, it really kicks off, I have some morphine medicine, but it doesn't help that much, even though through the night I am taking it every 4 hours. The Doctor has said that the chemo should shrink the large swelling of the lymph nodes, I certainly hopes so, I am starting the chemo on Monday. Has anyone else had this? If so, some advice, please!!!
Hi Pink Poppy. I am so sorry to hear that you are having to deal with this. It sounds like the lymph nodes are possibly pushing on a nerve when you lay down? I wonder if trying to sleep as flat as possible may help? Hopefully the chemo will shrink the swelling as the doctor has said, and you will be more comfortable.
Good luck for Monday, let us know how you get on x
Thank you for that, it seemed a little better last night, so it maybe nothing to do with the lymphs, but possibly just strained something, which is now getting better, here's hoping! Chemo actually starting Tuesday, thanks for your kind words.
Pink Poppy xx
