Hi guys
my mum has been diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer and has been started on a 6 week intensive treatment of chemo and radiotherapy.
she started yesterday with chemo and radiotherapy then had radiotherapy today.
she is saying her lung feels like it is burning on the inside and she is bringing up more blood. She is also is a lot of pain. Is this normal?
Hi sazza1988 your mum would of been given an out of hours number from the hospital to call. Can I suggest either yourself or your mum call them and describe her symptoms to them. Anything like this that you are not sure about, it is best to get medical advice.
Hi chellesimo, thank you for your response.
I am going to be calling her gp tomorrow to see if I can get some pain relief prescribed for her. I’ve told her if she feels it’s that bad to call 111 for further advise but she is so reluctant.
I was just wondering if there are others on here who have had or or having the same treatment as her (Monday to Friday radiotherapy for 6 weeks with chemo every Tuesday)
it’s only her second day and she is already in such a state, I am worried she won’t be able to complete the full 6 weeks.
