Think I've got to go for daily sessions over a period of 20 days.

Hospital is 30 miles away.

Is it OK to drive after this treatment?

  • Hi . I'm not from this group, but did have 6 weeks of daily radiotherapy for my bladder cancer. Also had a 60 mile round trip to hospital. I was offered the services of the NHS volunteer ambulance car service, who transported me daily, and is a free service here in the NW. In the early days, I would have been fine driving, but as the weeks went by, I became more tired with the treatment and motorway driving while feeling a bit drowsy would not have been ideal. I hope all goes well with your treatment. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Johnoo

As long as you feel well enough then yes you can drive, Rember thogh that this  decision is your responsibility.

Do you have a friend, family member or neighbour who would be willing to drive you, especially when you get into the second half of the treatment?

  • Yes, neighbors have offered, but want to keep them in reserve for emergency etc.
