Your opinions please:-
Had my initial X-Ray on 3rd March.
First meeting with Hospital doctor 17th March.
Since then CT Scan/PET Scan/ Breathing Lung function test/2 Biopsies.
Plus Initial meeting with Surgeon
Tomorrow seeing Surgeon & Oncologist for which I hope will be the day we all agree on a plan.
Total cycle of 11 weeks.
Is this a typical time scale for fast Track Lung cancer?
Every new “suspected” cancer patient is put on a pathway where there are targets of 62 days wait between the date cancer is suspected and referral sent, and the start of treatment. There is also no more than 31 days from when treatment is discussed and treatment starting.
I think you are pretty much on track. Considering you had to have a 2nd biopsy, and there has been this question over surgery. With Covid a lot of people have had to wait longer, had surgery cancelled etc.
Good luck at the hospital tomorrow.
