Sensitive skin after lung surgery

Hi Gemma, I've not had a lobectomy, so can't advise on that, but just wanted to suggest your mum gets this checked out with her GP.  If it hadn't of been a phone consultation, her consultant would of examined her, another knock on effect of this pandemic.  It might not have anything to do with her op, she may have a skin infection, I think to put both your minds at rest she needs to get it checked.

Sorry i have only just seen your question here and your mum may have had some help from her GP by now but thought i'd share my experience.  I too had a lobectomy and had the sensitivity on my stomach (also had swelling). This has also unfortunately spread around the side and to the back, all around my rib area.  I am a year on from surgery and my GP has suggested this may be intercostal neuralgia which is basically damage to the nerves between the ribs. He has prescribed my pregabalin as the gabapentin i was on was no longer hitting the mark. Also he gave me Capsicum cream which has been fabulous.  

My advice would be to your mum to keep going back to GP as i can fully understand how horrid this feeling is.
