Hi all

Ended up in hospital last week. Thought i had what was labyrinthitis , nausea, dizziness and also real shortness of breath and wheezing. Anyway, CT scan showed two lesions on brain; swelling around them causing symptoms of labyrinthitis. MRI scan following day confirmed that there are just(!) the two. Getting 3 fractions of focal radiotherapy week beginning 15th December. Lung tumour apppears to have progressed a bit also although oncologist says not by much. However, I have gone from being able to walk 5 miles two weeks agao to struggling to walk from one room to the next and wheezing in bed unless I lie on my right side.Disciussion with oncologist on 8th to plan 3rd line chemo. Last chance saloon in other words...

Just devastated...

  • Hi Debs0768. I am so sorry to hear your news.  We have had some very positive stories coming from people having brain radiotherapy.  Hopefully it will ease the symptoms you are experiencing.  Good luck at the oncologist appointment next week.

So sorry to read this. Sounds like you’re dealing with so much. I wish I had something helpful to say but my knowledge is limited although I have read many times of brain Mets being successfully treated. I’m hoping you will soon be out getting those miles in again! It’s just hard this time of year as well isn’t it? Sending you love and strength. Lisa x

  • HI , i had brain mets . 3,5 cm , had surgery and radiation, that was 2017, i am still here and brain is clear since..i hope you will beat them. Pet

  • Hi Debs, this is not nice to hear for you, so sorry. I had intensive radiotherapy for 3 lesions on the brain in July. It worked very well for me, I hope it does for you. I went from not being able to walk to being able to walk 3 miles a day. Everybody's journey is different. Hope all goes well, Tammy
