Hi, my mother in law has been diagnosed with aggressive secondary liver cancer. She was diagnosed with cancer in the eye 5 years ang and has now spread. The cancer is too aggressive for surgery or chemo but she has been told there is a trial she can go for. She has agreed to this but now has to wait to see if she I'd lucky enough to have it. Just wondering g if there is anyone out there who can offer any advise on this trial or if anyone has ever had it and did it help.

Thanks

  • Hi  and welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear how aggressive your mother-in-law's cancer is but it's good news that there is a trial that she is eligible for.

Could you tell us the name of this trial please, then other members of this group would then be able to tell you how they got on with it if they've been on it.

Hi latchbrook tha is for reading. Yes the trial is called imunicore 202. Has anybody had any experience with this?

    Thanks

  • Hi

I see that nobody has stepped forward with any experience of this trial.

I searched this group to see if anyone had mentioned it previously but drew a blank I'm afraid. I've also tried to find it in the clinical trials list at Cancer Research UK with no success either.

The only other things you could try on here would be to ask about it in ask a nurse and one of the specialist nurses will respond within 2 working days, or join and post in the eye cancer group as you said this was your mum's primary cancer.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your mum's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
