Hi All,
looking for some positivity. My dad has cancer in his kidney 23 years ago and partialnephrectomy. Has been under watch for his prostate for last 5 years or so monitoring every 6 mths. All of a sudden this time bloods were abnormal. Scans have followed showing lesions in his liver. They can’t see primary yet. He had a biopsy last week (results not yet known) and we have the Oncologist appt tomorrow. I’m really scared what his prognosis may look like? Any words of advice /positive stories ?
Hi ,
Welcome to the forum but sorry to hear about your dad .
Treatment varies from primary to primary on what approach they can take . There are many options to treat liver Mets . Chemo has often many options in itself . Liver resections can be used depending on the size and location and there is also radio frequency Ablation options .
My mum had liver Mets diagnosis ten years ago and continues to do well . Once you have a clearer picture on the primary you can start to focus on his best options . It certainly not without hope but takes a while to get a clearer picture .
Send him our best wishes ,
take care ,
