Hello

I’m new to this group. Wevhad the devastating  news today that my husband of only 2.5 years marriage has secondary liver cancer.

I lost my first husband to oesophageal cancer & Macmillian was my friend & support then. I never thought I would be posting on here again, but here I am.

G, my husband has  been unwell for a few years - he is a complex case with multiple physical disabilities but cancer has now got to him as well. How unlucky can a person be.

We are just starting this new stage of our lives and hope to make the best of it. We are meeting with The urology team  tomorrow to find out more. G is to have a CT scan to see where it has spread to. Primary cancer site unknown at the moment.

For all of you who are caring for or living with this disease I’m thinking of you.

  • Hello Christina

My husband was diagnosed with secondary liver cancer today, my two sons who are still at home are stunned, we don't know what to do they are breaking their hearts.

I hate this nightmare we are all in.

    Hello Marie

I’m so. sorry that you are in this awful situation too. It’s tough on everybody especially the children what ever age they are. I’m going into my Local Maggies cancer support centre today for the extra support I need. If you have got somewhere  like Maggies  near you, it’s worth visiting as a family  when you feel ready. These places are amazing - the support you get is very comforting. Take care

  • Hello Christina

We have a Keech Cottage i have asked my sons to come with me . The hard thing is to stay strong for my husband. I don't want to look back and feel l should have done more.

    Thank you

    Hello Marie

I’m pleased to hear that you have somewhere nearby you can go to for support. I don’t know anything about Keech Cottage but I imagine thay work on much the same principles as Maggies & other support centres.

I’m sure your  sons will get benefit from going there  as well. Keeping strong for our  husbands is hard & hopefully Keech Cottage can give you the support to do just that. Without  Maggies supporting me I would be in a different place mentally.

We have the first Oncology appt on Tuesday where treatment options & prognosis will be on the agenda - not looking forward to it but for us it’s better to know that not.

Take care Marie - keep in touch
