Hi everyone.

My partner has a suspicious lesion on her liver and we’ve been referred for an urgent MRI. She’s in quite a bit of pain that seems to move around her stomach and back. She also feels itchy from time to time which I’ve heard can be a symptom.

She wants me to be strong for her but I’m falling apart inside.

I’m praying it’s something else and clinging to the thought that she hasn’t lost any weight.

Does anyone know how often it’s caught early enough for surgery to be an option?

love to you all

  • Hi and welcome to the online community

I don't have any experience with liver lesions but I noticed that no one from the group had come forward yet. However, I do know how difficult waiting for tests and results can be. You might find it helpful to look at this article on how to ease worry when waiting for the results of medical tests as it has lots of helpful information.

I had a look on the Cancer Research website, as they have lots of cancer statistics, but I couldn't see anything for how often liver cancer is caught early. However, l do know that liver lesions can be benign as well as malignant so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it's the former.

If it does turn out to be liver cancer you might like to think about also joining the carers only group and/or the family and friends group which are both great places to get support from others who have a loved one living with cancer. The links I've created will take you to those groups.

Do come back when your partner has her results and let us all know how she got on
