Hi to all. I have just been diagnosed with liver cancer brought on by diabetes. Life expectancy 6-18 months as there is no cure. Not much to look forward too at the moment. Going to Nottingham for tests. Don’t know. What to expect.
Hello and I am sorry to hear your diagnosis. I can imagine the shock and hopelessness your feeling right now. I was a carer for my father who was diagnosed with liver cancer 3 years ago. All I can say is don’t think about the life expectancy prognosis. In our case it meant nothing. He was under the care of Christie’s and they told him he had 3-6 months 18 months ago and then 2 weeks 3 months ago. He was able to have Sorafenib and Lenvatinib which helped to keep it at bay. And he went in for liver surgery….have they told you that they won’t treat it with anything? They will usually tell you what cancer type it is and what they can do and if there are any drug trials you can go on. My dads was Hepatocellular Carcinoma which is the most common one brought in my diabetes I believe. Wishing you well and hope that’s helped in some way.
