he is struggling to talk and he is not very good at texting. Is there anything I can advise him please and thank you in advance Blush

  • Hi

i am sorry your dad his struggling to talk. I don’t have any practical advice to offer but didn’t want your post to go unanswered and wanted to welcome you to the community. I don’t have larynx cancer but am one of the volunteer community champions from the breast cancer forums. We also have a Family and friends forum you might like to join to get some support from others going through similar experiences.

  • Hi

Is your Dad’s radiotherapy palliative? He should have a CNS you can contact to make sure he has adequate pain relief for a start. Can you go with him to one of his last RT sessions to talk to one of his radiographers who can pass any messages on to the rest of his team.
It’s a sad truth that radiation to the throat makes it really impossible to eat and talk sometimes.
