Kidney op complete

So, I finally had my operation on Thursday, and I was lucky enough that they only needed to take half the kidney. I’m genuinely grateful — could’ve been the whole thing, so I’m counting that as a solid win.

So far I’ve only had a couple of codeines and paracetamols, which I think is pretty impressive, RIGHT. The biggest of the five holes is giving me a bit of attitude, and my flank/back is a tad sore, but overall I’m doing alright.

The injection they shoved in my back to numb me up was… something else. And now I’ve got the joy of sticking a needle into myself twice a day for the next 28 days. Living the glamorous life.

And let’s not forget: my poor peperami has never been in so many hands in its entire existence. “Embarrassing” is one word I could use — but let’s be honest, NOT.

But truly — I’m grateful, I’m healing, and I’m on the right track.

  • Well done.. good start. Don't be too disappointed if you have up and down days and a bit more pain in the next weeks as things heal and settle. It will be very normal..but I hope you keep on this good track! Rest is important... never forget! Don't push yourself.. your body has had a lot to deal with.

  • Chicho, so pleased to hear it all went well. Mine did also although I am still in hospital today., 10 days later. Going home tomorrow though. It was a complicated operation. Will post all gory details at a later date.

    Great news
