Hi there
I'm new here. I thought I was ok following total nephrectomy last August but follow-up has shown a local recurrence in my kidney cavity. I'm on the waiting list for SABR radiotherapy but there is an 85 day wait. I'm wondering if this seems a reasonable time frame for the treatmrnt to be effective. I'm feeling worried
Good afternoon,
I am Jamie one of the online champions. Firstly a warm welcome to the forum. However, sorry to hear that after surgery you are now facing more treatment. I am not personally sure on the timescales because each location and waiting lists can be very different.
Most NHS services work on 62 day wait for treatment to startfrom diagnosis to treatment starting. So it very understandable you are worried. I would suggest if you are concerned about the waiting time, it might be worth contacting you oncology nurse for further advice.
Also you could call our helpline number to. There is always someone around to help answer any questions you may have.
Please let me know if there is anyting I can do. This group is very supportive and I am sure some others will soon be along to offer support.
Best wishes,
Jamie
