I had bloods and a CT scan 2 weeks ago. My MDT was yesterday. How long would it be roughly before I hear and will it be by phone/letter or appointment ? thanks in advance. My hospital is Princess of Wales South Wales.
Hi I have no direct information about your hospital. But in my experience you usually get a call for an appointment within days. If you have a named nurse they may be able to tell you when there will be an appointment to discuss the outcome or you may get a call from your consultant. This is an anxious time wish there was a way to lessen that anxiety for you but it’s a wait or chase for information. I hope you get your options discussed with you soon … the wait won’t be long now. Take good care
Every hospital can be different regarding follow-up with people. Also different MDT outcomes have different communication channels. Eg I've had nurse specialists phone me up within days to advise a CT scan is required so watch out for an appt letter.
It would be the responsibility of the consultant or dept who requested the CT scan to advise the results or the next steps.
But, from your description of the situation, I don't think you'll be waiting much longer.
Just to let you know, I’m thinking of you. I can’t offer any advice because I’m a week or so behind you. Detailed follow up CT scan this Thursday with MDT following week ( then I believe results treatment plan could be week after but not sure). Just to say I’m at your sister Hospital in Llantrisant & sending you love & care from not far away xxxxx
My problem after 4.5 months since surgery is my bloated abdomen and flanks particularly on side of open surgery. Most uncomfortable as it gets firmer when I walk and stand. Unfortunately keyhole didn’t work but the end result was the same. They look after us well so best of luck
I would love to keep in touch as it would be great to have someone to talk to who is going through the same thing x
That would be great, because I feel exactly the same way. Thank you xxxxx
