Hi I went on holiday the end of July and during this holiday I had pain in a stomach hernia I had so I went to the local hospital. They scanned me to make sure there was no blockages and then shocked us with the news I a large mass on my left kidney. I came home and met with the consultant. he told me the tumour is 8cm x 11cm and has been there for over a year. I had a chest scan and bloods to check that it hasn’t spread and this is where we are at the moment. The waiting is torture.
Thank you so much. Hopefully I will hear soon x
Hi
this bit is the hard bit, everything is unknown and feels out of control but they will move quickly trust in the process. Almost all people find out their diagnosis when they are being tested for something else. When you know your plan you can work with it. But the waiting time seems so much longer.. if it’s any comfort having one kidney made little or no difference to the quality of life and I’m now on half a functioning kidney and this also has made little difference. Don’t know if that’s a silver lining or not but I wish I had of been aware before it would have been a comfort. Wishing you the very best. Take good care
