After being diagnosed with RCC I had my right kidney removed in March and have now embarked on a 12 month course of immunotherapy. I feel fine so far after 1 round of immunotherapy and am keeping my fingers crossed that this will continue? I am taking advantage of the wonderful Maggie’s centre which has been brilliant at taking my mind off the fact that I was actually diagnosed with cancer …..a shock for anyone I’m sure?
Welcome to the forum, CMR, from a fellow member. Glad to hear that you feel fine - long may that continue! I had my left kidney removed in July 2020 but I do recall that sense of shock at the diagnosis. Now I just try not to think about it so that yesterday it felt quite surreal to write “cancer” on a form about any medical issues! Hope the immunotherapy continues to go well.
Thanks for the welcome message Study To Be Quiet ….yes it was a shock definitely! I thought I had nothing worse than a stomach bug so it was totally unexpected. I’m over that now (I think?) and just getting on with the immunotherapy. Hope you’re feeling healthy and well?
I know! It’s surreal isn’t it Dunn555? I’m 3 months post surgery now and everything feels pretty much back to normal. I am absolutely counting my blessings tbh thinking of what other cancer sufferers have to go through and very grateful for the treatment I’ve received and continue to receive. I hope your journey goes as well as mine is doing so far
