Start at the beginning digonosed 10 December kidney cancer came on here and got lots of help and support.
For me everything went fast with scans and consulting visits bearing in mind it was over Xmas as well couldn't fault the NHS.operation 30th April went in to Hospital and 2 mins before going to theatre blood pressure went nuts 266 so OP cancelled you can imagine how upsetting that was, but deep breath crack on BP sorted over 2 weeks and Operation booked 11th June all went well home 2 days later feeling tired no pain but pleased it's over point of the post we are all going through a journey none of us want to take some are OK some have a rough ride but keep smiling and with help from friends familey and this forum you will make it.
Hi Coffeebean welcome to the forum..So glad to hear that your op is past and that you are feeling no pain that's great to hear. You sound very positive and I can imagine that that is a good thing for you to keep upbeat and for sharing your story to help others who may be starting this journey and not know what to expect.. Sending very best wishes your way for a speedy recovery Gailx
Few days Further on and all is well all pain meds stopped and managing a walk around garden to summer house and up and about doing light things making a brew feeding fish and so on.
Still doing the blood thinner injections Still got the sexy stockings on but only for a few weeks so expect to be given lots of meds as you would expect on discharge but also ask for spare stockings my team also give me a tool to remove the staples when I see my GP next week apparently the GP surgery never have the correct tool not sure if that's just localy but worth an ask on your discharge from Hospital.
Think I was lucky in and out in 3 days consultant said 5 to 7 days but no point sitting around hospital if no issues recover better at home.
For anyone starting on this journey my advise would be talk to as many people about it as you can do proper research via Mcmillans not doctor google and ask as many questions on this forum as want the dafter the better because I guarantee at some point someone will have asked the question before or be thinking it now.
