Would really appreciate any advices. Had a partial

Nephrectomy 3 years ago this week and for the last 3 months I’ve been having significant pain in my kidney area and around the side I had the op. Also feeling very queasy all The time. Just had 3 year scan which revealed kidney still clear but now lymph node issues under my arm. Thanks for reading

  • Hi Helen,

I'm so sorry you are having pain again. Have they said what these lymph node issues might be?

I just wanted to come and say hello. I don't really know what advice to give other than the obvious, which is chat with your consultant and see what exactly the scan results mean for you. It could of course be something totally unconnected with your kidney surgery, as 3 years seems a long time to have new issues arising from that.

I hope you can resolve this soon. Best wishes and hugs. Hugging

  • Thankyou so much I really appreciate the reply. Sometimes you just need to share your worries, it does help. Thankyou again
    Good luck to you too

    Helen

  • Absolutely do go back to your consultant/nursing team and ask for proper attention. You are still under their care... not been "signed off"! It could be unconnected of course but first line of enquiry should be through them. Be persistent. Best of luck. Keep us posted.

  • Hello. How are you feeling? When you say queasy, do you feel like you are constantly full, like a dull ache deep within the scar tissue area? X

  • Yes I feel like I don’t want to eat and the ache is around my hip and across my kidney area but deep inside .. have you experienced similar?

  • I'm 10 month post op. But I totally understand what you are saying. It's a very weird ache. Not painful as such, but like a dull sensation/ache. Like a pull from the inside. Feels like it's always there.   We all have so many different symptoms after these procedures, it's hard to figure what's normal or not. You are left to your own devices.

  • Your description is so right, feels like a deep pull but does it hurt, does it ache or is it a pain, so hard to describe. ! What eases it for you .. I feel like I’m forever with a hot water bottle? Sorry you’re struggling too

  • Hi Helen. Yes I can't says it's painful but it is a constant dull ache! Pulling... I have read on my last CT shows I have post operatory retractile fibrotic changes in left side abdominal wall. Not too sure what that is.

  • I’m off to see my consultant this week to take his views, so will let you know what he says. I just feel Permanently uncomfortable. How about you?
