During a scan for a bladder problem it was discovered I have kidney cancer as well. The bladder problem has been resolved and I was given an appointment to see a surgeon to discuss it. Last year I have had 2 heart problems resolved by inserting stents, but my heart is weak.
The surgeon I saw said he would need to remove the kidney, but due to my condition he felt that I would not survive the operation. And that was that - no further information or recommendations which has left me wondering how long have I got. This was the end of last year and I have been reading on the various forms of the cancer and the various treatments, some treatments appeared not to need having to go under the knife. But as the surgeon I saw didn't offer anything else, I am wondering if he could suggested something else or as I am 86 that anything else would still mean I might not survive.
I would appreciate any comments you might have.
I agree with Tillyv....sounds like ur in limbo...I would contact your renal team or GP....don't be put off. Many people on this forum have similar stories of chasing for answers...do it, make some phone calls...hugs
I know it's hard work chasing things up, especially when not feeling your best...but it's worth it...I myself had to phone oncologist only to find that the referral hadn't come through. The admin in the NHS is terrible so make those phone calls my friend...
