Oh dear it’s sometimes not good to read these things, as a number of factors are different in different cases.( most of us have done it though and in the absence of any concrete information our minds can get affected.by what we read).

I would get on the phone if I were you and really find out what is happening with you. I feel for you, this cancer diagnosis and the shock that goes with it is hard……but lots of us will get through it. I think that we all can have down days, but try not to go down the rabbit holes of what ifs when you don’t know. I tell myself this constantly. If you are feeling anxious or upset, do post and hopefully someone will message you and lift you up.

I wouldn't believe what google says about your survival rates at all, as the statistics those predictions are based on, is old data from at least 5+ years ago and not tailored to your situation.  Even if you ask your consultant it's a bit of a best guess.  Generally, a successful nephrectomy you should be good for 10+ years.   And the longer the cancer doesn't come back the better the prognosis gets.  

And yes, I asked two consultants "how long?".  I won't be asking again.  I've also googled it and binned what I read, ha!
