Hi Forum Members,
My left kidney was removed 2 months ago and I am in recovery phase. I am still struggling with severe nerve pain around the wound area. I was wondering what is your experience with the nerve pain and how do you manage it. How long will the pain last?
Hello Poplar
I have just seen your post and noticed that you have not yet had a reply so am hoping by responding that someone who has experienced similar will see your post and offer support.
In the mean time I have had a look on here and it does seem unfortunately that it is something that others have experienced.
Could you perhaps contact your CNS/Doctor and ask for some support in managing the pain while it lasts? It may well be that you need a specific pain reliever for nerve pain? Your CNS may also be able to give you an idea how long this pain could be expected to last and whether you need to be seen to be checked over. It is miserable to be in pain so please do ask for some support from your team.
The other thing you could do is to use the Ask a Nurse section on here for advice. They would normally reply within a couple of days and I have used them myself and found them helpful. I will pop a link here for you.
