Hi guys,  I had my right kidney removed three years ago but now have a lesion on my left lung and one between my diaphragm and liver.  After discussion with the oncologist we have decided on a wait and see policy with another CT scan in 3 months time.  I have no symptoms and feel fine but I am worried that more lesions will appear.  I am a widow aged 72 without any direct family and I'm not sure how I will cope on my own.

  • Hi Mary,

I just wanted to say hello and welcome to our group which although we didn’t want to have to join, we do find friendship and support within the group.

I had my nephrectomy 9 months ago which went well, but I have a complex cyst on the other kidney that they are keeping an eye on and a very small 5 mm node on my lung, which they are not too bothered about. So my situation is very different to yours in most ways…..but many of us on here can testify to feeling the same anxiety as to what may be happening between scans.

You of course have the added concern of living alone, which I can fully understand. Have you thought of talking things through with Macmillan? They may be able to advise you as to whether you would be able to receive any additional help at home if you did need another operation.

Hopefully someone on the forum with experience of this situation will be able to help you.

In the meantime, just wanted you to know that you are not alone….we are a very caring group Blush

    Big hugs Jules xx

  • Thanks Jules.  It’s nice to know there’s help and support out there.
