Metastatic renal cell carcinoma

Hi - sorry to read your post.  Good luck at the hospital today.  It's good you don't have to wait with all the uncertainty and turmoil hanging over you.  The hospital are definitely the right people to advise.  Sounds like it was an adjuvant treatment?  When a treatment option stops working they may look at whether to try another one, to manage the cancer, or a "watch and wait" approach,  There are lots of options these days as there has been a lot of recent development with immunotherapy.  Write down all the concerns and worries you have and ask at the hospital.  No question is out-of-bounds.  Let us know how you get on.  Sending a hug your way.      

Hello Wolfman, although I haven’t had any experience of this, I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear you sound so sad about what is happening to your lovely dad. Why not give the macmillan helpline a call as they should be able to help you formulate some questions. 

I guess you could  ask whether there are any more treatment options that they can offer, including any trials. Have you spoken to your dad about his wishes too and whether he wants to try anything else. It’s a horrible situation for both of you but at times such as this there can be a loving honesty between you.

Thank you so much bit of a kick in the teeth and to top it off ive forgot my password so had to set up another account. The doctor is going to write to other hospitals about trials but not sure if all avenues exhausted

Thank you for your kind words. The doctor is writing to other hospitals to see what trials they have. Plus I have had to set up another account as it states I could only log in through social media. He has tried immunotherapy
