Hiya I had a Ct scan for an unrelated right sided discomfort 2weeks ago never heard anything until I went to the dr he had t been sent any of the results but could see a left sided kidney lesion was found and that an mri scan had been booked for next week 7 the December I am traumatised thinking the worse I still work and havnt had the weight loss fatigue and usual symptoms of cancer but sometimes you don’t do you ? Has a muons been like me just found this on your kidney by chance? Thanks for reading any comments are welcome

  • I had the same. Just pain in my right side and back nothing else. I'm having my right kidney removed next week. My consultant is still not sure it is cancerous the kidney will be sent off for tests after removal. There is a chance either of our tumours are not cancerous we just have to wait for results. I know how you feel as I was really nervous waiting for CT results. I hope you get your scan and results with little waiting as waiting is the worst. Good luck, let us know how you get on.

  • Thanks for the reply glad you’re finally getting sorted it’s just so scary I thought they could tell from the scan whether it was cancerous? I have no left sided pain at all, if it was the right sidFrowning2 kidney I would understand, just wish I knew what was going on Frowning2

  • The CT will tell them more about size and if anything else is affected. If they see other parts affected this might give them an indication it's cancer and has spread I think, but mine is confined to my kidney so I have to wait for results after removal. After CT scan you may get some answers. Please try not to worry, I know easier said than done.

  • Thankyou am hoping for some answers then I can deal with whatever is in front of me.

  • Yes, because kidney cancer frequently doesn't have any symptoms, it's frequently diagnosed as an incidental finding, whilst investigating something else.  "The Silent One" it's sometimes called.  Mine was an incidental and they could tell it was cancer from the CT scan, but I think it's easy peasy CT diagnosis after it's spread - mine has.    It's tough the waiting.  We've all been there, but there are plenty of treatments these days so don't be disheartened if you get an unfavourable outcome.  Good luck and I know it's a cliche, but try not to worry.  Distract yourself!

  • Thanks for the reply I am trying just to keep things normal but sometimes it just takes over, really worried why they want an mri done now too
