Have twenty been diagnosed with kidney cancer. This was found by chance after being sent to hospital with acute abdominal pain.
Have opted for the robotic assisted removal. Have had pre op assessments done now waiting for date of operation.
Finding the whole situation exceedingly stressful even though I have been reassured it is very small and not aggressive, so count my blessings for that.
I find each day a bit of a struggle to be honest. Just want to get the op over and done with. I already suffer from chronic anxiety so as you can imagine this diagnosis has made it worse. Then there's the guilt of feeling so sorry for myself when there are so many people in a worse situation than me.
Its just a case of getting through every day.
It’s never easy but the fact you can have robotic assisted surgery is such a positive . It’s been a week since I had the same surgery , I’m 69 and was discharged on day 2 and making progress since . So take heart, if my old body coped with it you will be in an even better position. You are quite right to count your blessings , so many people don’t have the luxury we have both had , surgery that will cure you . This forum was very helpful for me and I hope it will be for you. Best wishes and keep us all informed if you can .
