Hello everyone, I am not that new I joined maybe about 4/5 weeks ago. I did not know what to say. About me, I have kidney and spleen cancer and possible cervical. I was diagnosed in May of this year, I have had all the tests, which the hospital has been wonderful. This Wednesday I have my operation, they are not sure if they can do the op. I will be having 2 surgeons due to different cancers. It is a 50/50 for me. If they cannot operate they will close me up and maybe talk about another route. If they can operate fantastic for me. I am ok with this, it just that I need to know, what route I will be taking. NSK. Not sure what else to say I am 65 years old
Hello NSK, this is all a bit new to you at the moment isnt it. Its all such a shock i know , this is the worse time at the moment not knowing what,s going to happen next. Its good to hear your hospital have been wonderful and i am sure that has helped a little. I found like many on here that when your surgery / treatment starts you will feel in more control of this difficult situation, its the not knowing that scares us all.So please take it from someone that has been fighting this cancer battle for 18 years that when you are armed with the information and treatment plan a lot of the anxiety and wondering what the future holds will be easier to understand. I wish you all the best for Wednesday and the future Dawn x
Thank you Dawn, it is a big shock, I did not know like most of you lovely people that I had cancer until May this year. This is why my open surgery was suggested after the tests, no other test would tell us anything, so I opted to have this done. I am really pleased that there might be light after Wednesday and an end to the tunnel, after reading your reply. Thank you so very much in taking the time to let me know and give me hope. Shirley x
