Hi all.
I received my diagnosis yesterday, following investigations for blood in my urine. I have a 5.2cm tumour on my right kidney. There is no evidence of localised spread on the CT, but I'm having a chest CT next week to rule out lung metastases. It's not presenting as a typical RCC, so might be a different type, but no idea which at this point.
Still feeling a bit numb about it, and currently pinning all my hopes on no spread. I won't know until I see my consultant on Monday week.
Just wanted to introduce myself, as I'm sure I'll have lots of need for conversation/advice as things develop!
Good to meet you all.
Hi there and welcome! It's good it's been caught and investigation ongoing. Those timescales are positive too. Many people on here are left with investigations to get done and then have to wait for the appointments. We don't wait well in this club! You sound positive despite the situation, well done. There are excellent new treatments if it has spread so don't count a spread as too negative. Fingers crossed for you.
