Consultant just called me to tell me the results are that the tumour was a non aggressive cancer. All gone and follow up scan in a year. My tumour was caught early and I'm so grateful I noticed the pink tissue! I feel incredibly lucky. When I first heard that it was 80% chance of the tumour being cancer I could not believe that it would be cut out and no other treatment would be required...but that's where I am now. Always thought chemo/radiotherapy was a given with cancer diagnosis. The surgery went well. I recovered relatively quickly but did not do anything other than lift a kettle for 4 weeks and commenced housework after 6 weeks. Scars all healed nicely. Feeling grateful and sending love to all
Hello Zeebie
Fantastic news and thank you for sharing. Brings positively to all going through the same.
I too had the same surgery in January, same results and feel a bit of a fraud being on here as I had no follow up treatment either.
Love reading posts on this support group and give help where I can. We are all at different stages, but can relate to the journey.
Wishing you well and don't do too much housework!

i have been put onto the waiting list for partial nephrectomy. They believe that the tumor is cancerous. But my question is how long were you actually waiting for your operation? I have so many side effects and conditions that rely on this proceedure being done. I was told to expect an appointment for May 2022 but I don't hold too much hope for this date. I am trying in my mind to find a date to begin the process of getting myself well again.

I also had thyroid nodule that they thought could be cancerous so I had surgery on this and 5 weeks later had my kidney surgery. The nodule turned out to be benign. I'm in south of country. Referred at end of December for scans and surgery was end of March after thyroid surgery so didnt wait long. Surgery at Southmead Bristol who were fantastic.
