Hi. I collapsed at home nearly 5 weeks ago. Got taken to hospital. They found a lot of large clots in heart and lungs and after scans told me I have cancer on right kidney which extends into my vena cava and is causing that to swell. Had MRI 2 weeks ago for suspicious things on liver. Waiting for results. My heart and lungs are weak from the clots and blocked vein. But, more than a month after diagnosis I still haven’t seen a specialist, have no idea how serious this is, what treatment I can get. I feel abandoned. The not knowing really messes with your head. How do I deal with this limbo period?

Hi Sue
Sorry that you are having such a dreadful time. Just hope that by now you might know a bit more. I'm afraid that sometimes we have to chase Doctors and Consultants to get help. The last thing you want to do I know when feeling anxious and a bit down.
I think there are times when we all feel alone and abandoned and all we want is some answers.
I have been lucky as I only had the cancer in my left kidney which has now been removed but there were still times when I felt very alone even though I have a good husband, family and friends who have been wonderful at supporting me through a very difficult time.
I do hope that you soon get some answers and that you start feeling a lot better soon.
Take care and let us know how you are getting on.
Best Wishes
Betty
