My husband was diagnosed in April 2021 with metatastic kidney cancer, it’s also in his liver, lungs & lymphatic system. He’s takes Carbozantanib daily & his consultant seems amazed he’s still here. Latest scans show 3 out of the 4 are responding to chemo, hallelujah! I am his full time carer, my gorgeous man is mainly bed-ridden & we try to take it one day at a time. I try & stay positive, I’m sure I drive him crazy sometimes but it’s the only way I can cope. We haven’t asked the scary questions & haven’t been told about any stages or grades of this dreadful disease, can’t let my head think about that path SO am I being naive? What can I do to really help & support him?
It’s been very interesting reading the posts on here, thank you.
So sorry to read about your husband. It sounds as though you are doing a great job of being there for him and helping him through this very difficult time. Hope you have a lot of support for yourself from family and friends as it is always good to talk. I have had a lot of lovely support from my friends while going through my own operation to remove my left kidney due to a tumour.
Take care of yourself and hope that everything goes well for your husband.
As you say take each day as it comes and make the most of it.
All the best
Betty
