Hello,
ive just been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. Finding it really hard to talk to friends and family about how I’m feeling but I am petrified! Started immunotherapy yesterday to hopefully try and shrink it. Just wondered if anyone had any advice or tips on how people cope with all this! I’m only 25 and this has just been such a shock
Hi Hannah
I totally understand howyou feel. I have the same and immunotherapy did shrink things. Talk to us. I found bottling it up didnt help and it became all consuming. Let us know how it goes
take care
sylvia
Hi Hannah,
Your in the right place it's like the world stops when you get told the news ,but from experience it will get easier and the worrying and sleepless nights will pass .
I was diagnosed in January and had my right kidney removed in may 3 months on pretty much back to normal .
Try and smile anything on your mind please share all been or going through similar journeys
All the best Ry
Thank you. Really struggling today, the back pain is unbearable and feel so sick! Are you still having your treatment? I’ve never felt anything like this before, it really sucks:(
Hi Hannah,
Sorry to hear it's a bad day fingers crossed you feel better tonight it's crap at times I didn't have back pain but killed on my side .
Treatment no I'm all finished for now my 6 week appointment after surgery found my tumour was highly aggressive so I get a CT scan every 3 months to keep an eye on things waiting for the first one any time now.
With your age you will bounce back in no time ,I'm 49 and didn't take too long say 5 weeks and I was back to work full time .
All the best have a good as evening as you can thanks for reading my waffle Ry
Sorry to hear you’re having a rough day. Do give them a call if you’re in pain or have nausea as they will prescribe to help. No, I’m no longer having treatment as my kidney function deteriorated but what I did have was worth it. Take care sylvia x
