Hi everyone my urologist  sent me for blood test and I have to have a ct scan with dye injected as my first ct scan they never used dye and never picked up the cancer it was the ultra sound that picked up the cancer so to be 100% sure he wants another ct scan done before deciding the next steps. I'm a little worried  as I have pain in both kidneys that comes and goes but apparently  the cancer in left kidney and 2 cysts on the right kidney just worried as people saying if you show symptoms  it might of spread etc

  • I have done a lot of reading and I’ve never heard of it to be in both kidneys, it usually is only ever in one. Just because you have symptoms it doesn’t mean that it has spread. Hope that is of some help

    • Thanks for you reply. Its uncommon  for it to be in both but still a little bit worried about the cysts on right kidney I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the urologist says but it's the waiting that's doing my head in as it was 3 months ago I went to doctors they first thought it was kidney stones but after tests obviously that's not the case I just want to be told what happens  next and if they need to take the kidney out or part of it out when it will be.
  • The waiting is the hardest part. But it’s far better them double checking and making the right decision. They very seldom get it wrong so if they’ve said the other kidney has cysts I would go with that. I have been told tumours grow 1cm a year and they are slow growing. Hopefully you will get your scan very soon. Unfortunately some GP’s don’t seem to recognise Kidney Cancer, my friend was told she’d have to live with her cough, she was pre-diabetic, lose some weight and have a blood test next year. That was back in May and we found out 9 days ago she has a 12cm by 14cm kidney cancer tumour, it’s shocking!!!
