Kidney spleen and adrenal gland removal

Having had a kidney spleen and adrenal gland removed in October 24 I am just beginning to feel a bit better. This may be due to steroids prescribed for diarrhoea after treatment but at least for now I have more energy. I am feeling discomfort in my side and abdominal area. Not exactly lots is pain but a feeling of tightness and weight as if I have a sack of fluid or something just hanging inside. Are these weird feelings normal?

thank you

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

It's great to read that you've regained some energy now and hopefully that'll continue.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Firstly, welcome to the group. We are a friendly lot. I am just sorry i didnt notice your message until today. Gosh u have been through the mill. I would imagine that ur insides are still recovering after being so disrupted. It does take some abdominal surgeries a good while to truly settle down. If these odd feeling are concerning u phone ur nursing team up. They should be able to help more than anyone. You must be due a check up so u could mention it then...however, if it was me I would give my team nurse a call ...hope that helps..hugest hugs
