Hi all,
7 years ago I was diagnosed with a 6cm tumour in my right kidney with no symptoms it was found by chance on an ultrasound scan. The kidney was removed with no further treatment and found to be a stage 3 RCC. I have had annual CT scans since then and recently metastices have started to appear as a nodule in each lung. The blood results showed no markers so the Oncologist has prescribed Sutent which I have yet to be issued.
The Oncologist guided me through the 3 stage treatment process which frankly frightened me to death. This forum has given me a lot of hope especially with the success stories of patients much worse off than me.
Has anyone had any success with the Sutent immunotherapy drug and if so how long for?
Also known as Sunitinib, in case it helps anyone.
I'm a bit of a geeky bod and read many a white paper about trials, and treatment options. Sunitinib is the option used as a baseline for many trials of new immunotherapy treatments and combinations. It comes out well as a top performer in this space.
