Hi all I had my operation on Thursday to remove my left kidney, it was keyhole and they had robots helping too. I’ve had to have a drain and that is causing me the most pain! Anyone else had one? I was supposed to go home yesterday but they gave me morphine drip when they shouldn’t have. Hopefully going home tomorrow

  • Hello   I have just come across your post and notice it's gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I have a different cancer, however by me replying it will be "bumped" back to the top of the forum. Once there I hope it's seen by other Community members and you receive some replies.

Reading your post I do hope your operation was a success and you are both pain free and back home.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi Trying to hope,

So glad you are home now and pain free, when I had my left kidney removed I had open surgery, so no drain they also removed my spleen as it was stuck to my kidney, I expect they could not release you earlier because of the morphine in case you had a reaction, sorry for the late reply I hope you recover quickly and back on you feet soon Sandy

  • Hi, hope you are doing ok.

  • Hi Tryinhtohope

Hope your starting to feel better now home, sending healing thoughts your way :)

  • Oh wow I hope you’re much better now. Apparently the hospital weren’t meant to give me morphine, it should have been oxycodene. And I went quite poorly the day after my op and passed out when they tried to get me to stand up

  • I am thank you, still can’t do too much but it will be a week tomorrow
