Hi there,
Please bear with me as it’s a bit of a long one this one!!
I had a 20cm tumour and my left kidney removed about 9 weeks ago. No symptoms before hand bar and was diagnosed as chromophobe which had potentially been there about 8/9 years! Had a few complications post surgery and needed catheter in and after being discharged but basically been recovering well.
My right kidney needed a stent due to extensive endometriosis. I had no symptoms of this prior to surgery but it is THIS that is causing me so many issues now. I am in daily pain which pain killers just don’t touch. I need the stent replaced on 17th July, just a few weeks away and I am literally dreading it as the pain at the moment is unbearable. The shooting pain I get literally stops me in my tracks. It hurts to pee and before I need to poo I am literally doubled over in pain for potentially half an hour. I have had xrays that show the stent is in the right place so they are assuming it’s both the stent and endo that are causing the issues.
As a 46 year old mum of a 12 year old and 15 year old, i long for my old life back and I feel I just can’t get back on track! I am usually an active person who is admittedly a bit of a work aholic and I miss all of this.
I was lucky that gynae were in on my operation. When I saw them a few weeks back they said that the problem is scarring on the urethra tubes so surgery to remove endo won’t actually help. I had another Mri last week and meet gynae again on 19th but was given the prostap injection to start the menopause as a temporary measure to help with the pain - yet to see relief from this but I know this can take time.
I guess I am just on to rant. With this being a rare cancer and all the additional elements I just feel so alone and that no one understands-I should be back fitting fit again if it wasn’t for the endo and stent and I guess I was hoping someone else might be able to share a positive news story having been in a similar position to give me a bit of hope that this isn’t something that will continue! Anyone even had a stent replacement and could give me an idea of what this would entail? Would really appreciate any advice/support. Thanks in advance xx

So sorry to hear you are going through theses problems and don’t worry about ranting or moaning on this site that is what we are hear for and if it helps in anyway to just get it off your chest rant away, I have not had any of your symptoms so not able to say but I know that having a kidney removed is traumatic and you have to recover from that, but having other problems to deal with must really get you down especially pain I hope there will be someone on the site that may be able to help you but try to stay positive I am sending you hugs and best wishes and I hope they can do something for you to help with the pain love Sandy xx
