Hi all
At last I have had my op on the 13th, 7cm tumour removed, I'm currently still in hospital as there are compliction after the surgery, I was very poorly with stats up down all over the place.
I was given another Cat scan with dye on the 16th and it has shown urine leaking from my kidney, so they put in a bladder stent, that didn't really work, 2 days later I had a drain put in close to my damage kidney.
Feeling rough as !! Is an understatement it's so painful and takes my breath away, has anyone had simular to this, they initially wanted to my remove kidney, but the other kidney was only working 30% with scarring and cyst, I understand its early day ... 10 to be exact, I'm on really strong antibiotics, only paracetamol as pain management ....I don't think I have ever had pain like it if I'm sitting I'm uomfortable if I lay its bearable if I stand I can quite easily pass out, the nurse looked at it today and said the dressing has blistered all my skin ..... please tell me it gets better I'm blessed to be here .... I'm being discharged tomorrow and I'm terrified, I'm a pensioner and my poor hubby will have to Cope with this himself I email mc millan today to see if we can get a blue badge
Jude, so sorry to hear this, you have really been through the mill x I am sending you a big hug too although a gentle one x I have no experience of this either so sadly can't help in this way. Do let the hospital know how you are feeling and your concerns about support when you get home x
Ler us know how you get on xxx
Morning Jude5524,
I really feel for you and the worry you have as Jules said you must speak to your health workers letting them know your situation and see if they can help in some way, sorry I have not had this myself so not much help to you I had my whole left kidney and spleen removed so only had to get over the operation, but I still have cancer in my right kidney not sure why they did not remove your whole kidney maybe you would not have had this problem, I am sending you hugs, best wishes and prayers for you, I hope they sort something out for you and your hubby as you will not have very good mobility at home let us know how you get on love Sandy xx
Hi Jude5524,
Sorry to hear that, they said I could have that option taking both my kidneys, but as it has now spread that is no longer on the table, I hope they get some help for you before discharging you from hospital, I see from your message we are the same age I was 67 in September this year. Take care Sandy xx
