So, I have been struggling to pee for the last few weeks. I don't normally pee much as I'm on dialysis. Peeing can be difficult as it feels there is a blockage at times. I have been passing blood and some clots. My GP now thinks this is more due to my renal Cancer than infection and suggested a catheter which terrified me. I am a confirmed coward with a fear of hospitals. I have a very low pain threshold. Be interested to hear honestly what I could expect. Is it possible to have this done under sedation for example???
Much love
Stu
Hi Stu
I cannot speak from personal experience but my dad had a catheter for years. He used to insert it himself and all the bits and pieces came through the post! He went golfing, did the gardening etc and had no problems till he was in his late nineties and suffering from dementia. He died in 2017 so I hope someone with more recent experience can reassure you.
Best wishes, Study to be quiet
Many thanks for this. I have ended up with a long term catheter due to blood clots blocking my bladder. It's been extremely painful but hopefully now resolved x
Hi sturit69,
I am very glad you got this sorted, I hope it works because having a catheter fitted is no joke, when my father had one fitted I actually had them remove it as my father kept pulling it out and they do tend to give you urine infections, hopefully you won’t have this problem as it is for the blood clots that are blocking your urine.
Sandy
Best wishes...I cant stop peeing...renal cancer messes with your bladder doesnt it! I get a pain right inside like cramp sometimes when peeing too ♡
