Hi mum just diagnosed with large kidney tumour - no spread as yet isolated. Expected as cancer.
consultant indicating mum not a candidate for surgery and recovery from surgery - she’s 84, overweight, moderate dementia (short term memory still knows everyone, does cross words etc), reduced mobility from previous hip break surgery (they didn’t replace it just bolted it). The difference of how my dad (non dementia and slimmer) is treated is very noticeable. Perhaps for good reason. Mum doesnt want a big operation.
No alternative treatment was offered but I read about ablation - is there other realistic options in this scenario? Mum and dad both live at home happy little life after 60 years of marriage xx
