Oh dear, just about to start 2nd cycle of chemo and noticed hair staring to thin. Gulp. I am 75 yr old male, with hitherto a good hair, until now.
Right my question is:- Do l go for the macho grade 1 cut, or disguise the departing locks with a paper bag or is there some cunning answer to STOP loss (l guess not)
I must admit l am feelin sightly empowered by predicament and l hope not posting an entirely frivolous question?
Anyway it's 0230 in the morning and l just thought l'd place a post hoping for an answer, any answer.

Hi Suffolkflyer welcome to the kidney cancer group. Sorry I'm a bit belated; I've been in hospital- unrelated to my cancer
Personally,I'd go for a very close shave, like you see some ( younger) snooker players sporting.
Is that the same effect as a grade 1 cut? I also wonder if you occasionally had a treatment break whether your hair would temporarily grow back a bit. You may not think that's much of an answer tho?
I can't think of a way to completely stop the hair loss/ thinning. I wonder if any male members of the group can? I've been on Pazopanib for nearly 8 years now n used to have thick, curly hair. Now it's straight, white n thin. But I'm still here to moan about it!

Hi there, thanks for the heads up. I don't really worry aboit the barnet coming out. Just a bit miffed. My fully haired-up, middle aged kids are delighting in dreaming up outrageous hat styles but l think the baseball cap is the way to go. Comparing myself to a young and shaven headed snooker player l will not be doing. Buy Bruce Willis....? Well l may.
Seriously thanks for you reply, it's so rewarding when folk reply.
You're welcome Suffolkflyer
Hi Norfolkflyer,
I don’t blame you just wear your cap, I had lovely think hair that has now gone a lot thinner and have also lost my eyebrows, underarm and leg hair the only thing is I don’t have to pay for waxing anymore, the worst thing for me are my eyebrows, but as Buttercup01 said we are still here so a small price to pay, take care
Hi Sandra 55, one of my male features was hairless legs, to my embarrassment l might add, Always been the bane of my life. Oops just had an almighty burst of laughter... that's whay happens when you discuss non-hairy legs at 2252 at night. I just love it. Great for the spirit. Anyway hope you have a good night, sleep tight. Night night.
