Hello everyone,
Im new here - in June I had an x-ray on my clavicle and I was called back for a full chest x-ray. I was told it was probably nothing but they sent me for a CT scan.
I was called in and told it was very likely that I had two primary cancers: one on my left kidney and one on my right lung in the top lobe.
After a PET scan and a lung biopsy the MDT decided lung surgery should be first.
On August 27th I had a lobectomy and was told it was successful but they had taken many lymph nodes for testing. I’m still waiting for results.
Now I’m waiting until my lung has recovered to have my left kidney removed. I’m anxious as this was a bigger lesion than the one in my lung and I’m waiting a long time for surgery.
Has anyone experienced similar?
Any advice and information about a nephrectomy and recovery would be useful. Also about living with one kidney.
