It's nearly surgery day, Friday to be exact. A partial nephrectomy of my solitary kidney My surgeon seems very skilled so I'm pretty confident that all will be well
I had a phonecall appointment on Tuesday from the kidney care team who talked me through the possibility of needing dialysis after should things take a turn, and I need my kidney removed. Said the anaesthetist will be instructed to put in the fistula in theatre should it be needed. Any dietary changes etc would be discussed after surgery when they know how much function I have left.
I'm a bit scared, but trying to stay positive that all will be well
I even thought about Christmas while out shopping and got tins of my grandsons favorite biscuits and a little Christmas outfit for my baby granddaughter I hadn't even thought about Christmas lol!
It feels like an eternity since this was first discovered in May, now finally the last I will see of my kidney lodger!
Oh no! You don’t think about the surgeon becoming ill as so focused on your journey at least the delay is not too long, stay positive for next week now
I had Covid two weeks before I started chemo and was so worried it would be delayed, luckily the line disappeared in time
