Gone sideways :(

Gone sideways. Initially told based on end of treatment scan and previous results that A(B)VD had gone "exceptionally" well and there is only a "tiny spot" on my chest they want to treat with radiotherapy

MDT have decided otherwise (Consultant/CNS has told me pre-MDT meeting) and now have to have a biopsy to investigate. Spoke to CNS and need to see Consultant next week who will explain possible treatment.

When I pushed implication was this could be further chemo Rolling eyes. Not happy as you can imagine, has anyone had a similar experience?

What treatment is next?  Should I consider pivoting to private?

  • Hi  and sorry to hear about the challenges…… this is what MDT is for as the ultimate decisions are not down to one person but a team of experts.

The biopsy will determine if there is actually a need for more treatment (I have a totally different Lymphoma journey)….. I have no idea what this actually would be but from seeing posts from other people there are options….. radiotherapy, more chemo…… time will tell.

I have been in the same position a number of times and post a biopsy there was no treatment required or on a few occasions treatment was required.

As for going private I have now first hand experience but having talked to others over my 25 years when it comes to Lymphoma there is no real significant advantage from going private as they are not fully set up for Lymphoma and most times after tests people are referred back to the NHS…… possibly making the whole process longer.
