Had my post treatment MRI last saturday . Have Oncologist appointment 3rd November . Feels like a long time to wait . Was told no news is good news by ENT doctor . Sorry but this feels a long wait and now every time phone goes i jump . I'm kind of wanting to push this in order to find out sooner. I'm taking it this is normal treatment

  • Sadly things are taking much longer these days. I was seen routinely about two weeks after my post treatment MRI. My oncologist told me he hadn’t had the report from the radiologist but he did have the images so we looked through them together. I know how to read an MRI as well as he did and we both concluded all the cancer had gone. These things used to take two weeks but sometimes don’t because the hospital doesn’t have enough trained radiologists to look at them.
I would ring your CNS in two weeks to see if anything has come through.
Sometimes results are released to your NHS portal before you’re seen so you could keep checking there. It depends on the trust policy. Some don’t make scan and biopsy results available till the patient is seen.
    Fingers crossed everything is ok.
