Hi all,
Had a strange reaction yesterday ,just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar.
Im 23 weeks post treatment, throat is pain free, eating quite good, dry mouth hinders swallowing a little but its getting better. I suffer with lymphodema under jaw and especially in left submandibular node. Do my exercises and massage every day.
Yesterday decided try a yakitori chicken kebab. Id tried a korma last week with success, so this was next on list. While eating it was a bit spicy, think it had ginger in it, but wasnt uncomfortable. Takes me a while eat meat so about 30mins later neck under chin started swelling and on either side especially the left. It felt hard to touch. And was warm to touch . Had a bit of a panic, drank loads of milk which settled it a little. It wasnt effecting breathing but neck felt very tight. It had softened a tiny bit before bed. Woke this morning and its back to normal, well the new normal, bit puffy and node tiny bit swollen, but I don't look like a bull frog anymore.
Conclusion is won't be having yakitori kebab again . Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Similar but not so extreme! Lots of things can trigger a reaction and our mouths/throats are super sensitised to what "normal" people experience. We learn to manage this over time. All said, it is good to experiment and don't give up on the food as what does not work this week may be good next week (or vice versa)
