You should be able to get this on prescription from your GP. The hospital restorative dentist had to contact my GP to request this for me before they would prescribe it.

I get mine on the nhs..its on repeat prescription from the Gp..

Clare, If you run into opposition then tell your GP that he has special dispensation to prescribe a dental preparation for HNC patients who do not have access to an NHS dentist

Hi Clare, I used to have mine from my NHS dentist, when they went private, they wanted to charge me for it, so I asked my GP who refused. I knew I was entitled to it so I pushed for it, finally after a 2-year battle with my GP it is now on my repeat prescription list. Don't be fobbed off, you have a right to it.

Yes some of us have had trouble. A letter from your CNS to your GP usually fixes it 

It's a lifelong need...your GP should put it on repeat

The problem arises because it has to be prescribed by a dental practitioner and GPs are not allowed to except in special cases. Unless the GP and practice manager have HNC patients on their list they simply don’t know.
