Hi,
i finished radiotherapy and chemo in October 2025 for base of tongue cancer. It became clear after a few months that I physically couldn’t swallow at all not even my saliva.
I have now had 2 dilations for a stricture caused by radiotherapy, the first dilation was a total fail and the second seems to have worked much better although I spent a week in agony.
I am able to eat soft foods and drink however I get awful stabbing ear pain when swallowing. I am trying really hard to push through the pain but it’s really hard. Paracetamol, ibuprofen and morphine don’t touch it. Anybody experience this type of pain before and anything that helped ease it.?
